Binnies UK, part of the RSK Group are currently looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of the Cambridge WWTP Relocation project, ensuring all contracted outputs are achieved on-time and to budget.
The Project Manager will strive to meet our client’s requirements and will continually develop and improve project communication and performance.
The Project Manager is the go-to person for everything involving a project’s organisation and timeline. They will be responsible for the whole life management of the project and the main focus points will be as below:
* Work alongside the Engineering Manager to assess project deliverables, establish timelines and programme, and allocate resources accordingly
* Ensure effective and efficient coordination and collaboration with design partners, client organisations and supply chain partners is established and maintained
* Deliver project outputs on time and within budget and scope and to applicable HSEQ standards
* Lead the commercial delivery of the project, ensuring that the contract terms are considered, understood and all commercial functions and outputs are aligned accordingly
* Build relationships with the internal teams, the client, and other relevant contractors and drive effective, honest communication between all parties.
Managing the tender process from inception through design to price submission, award on contract and delivery to final handover.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Maintain a position on the Design Engineering Leadership Team, using this position to drive efficiency and collaboration into the delivery team
* Report to the Project Director, ensuring regular updates relating to design outputs and commercial outcomes
* Support the Engineering Manager and the Design Team, focusing on workload management
* Managing Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality processes and ensuring these are adhered to across the project.
* Maintain the project risk and opportunity register, driving risk management, ensuring that risks are recognised, mitigation options established and actions taken
* Maintain the project change register, driving change management, ensuring that all contract changes are recognised, notified, priced and submitted
* Present progress reports at client meetings and internal Binnies meetings.
* Liaise with multiple internal business functions and supply chain representation to ensure successful delivery of the project.
* Contribute to the effective management of internal skills and resource requirements, where it is effective, efficient and when necessary, sub-contract packages set up to achieve successful delivery of all projects.
Experience/Qualifications:
* Preferred engineering qualification to Degree level or equivalent
* Experience of project management in design and/or construction projects within the Utilities industry, preferably water and wastewater
* Knowledge of design management processes and methods.
* Clear understanding of NEC form of contract is preferable
Skills:
* Excellent time and project management skills.
* Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Valid UK Driving licence is essential.
