Principal Mechanical Engineer role:
You will report directly to the Regional Discipline Lead and be responsible for delivering high-quality Engineering Design services that help the company minimize risks and maximize profits on turnkey and engineering services contracts.
Your role will involve coordinating the design process and producing design documents and drawings, ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements, contract specifications, and relevant standards.
Principal Mechanical Engineer responsibilities:
Create design layouts that are cost-efficient, fulfil the specification requirements, and can be effectively constructed and commissioned.
Provide estimates and feedback for proposals department.
Follow established procedures and processes to support the ongoing development of the department, while regularly monitoring and reviewing them for effectiveness.
Write, update and monitor efficient procedures to aid the smooth running of the department.
Work within a culture that prioritises customer satisfaction as a key driver for achieving other objectives, where customers include both end users and internal departments that benefit from our processes.
Ensure designs consider environmental factors and fully adhere to all health and safety requirements.
Principal Mechanical Engineer requirements:
Essential
Proven experience in the technical delivery of process plant systems for complex engineering projects in the water industry.
HND in a relevant engineering discipline.
Ability to rationalise designs and produce economic plant layouts.
C&G BS 7671 / IET Electrical Regulations 18th Ed.
Preferred
Experience of selection and specification of Instrumentation, Industrial Communications, PLCs and SCADA systems.
Experience of motor control centres including protection, motor starters including VSDs, and harmonic mitigation methods.
Engineering degree in a relevant discipline.
