Our client is looking for a Technical Assistance Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will be involved in liaising with customers regarding drawing review, CAD reviews and technical concerns. Acting as a point of contact for major automotive customers and participating, assisting and planning of new DLF systems.

Working hours 38.5 per week (Mon-Thurs 07:30-16:30 with 30 min unpaid lunch break, Fri 07:30-12:00 no lunch break).

Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer drawing review and identification of any concerns at enquiry stage (I.e. Safety Critical, SC’s and CC’s).
2. Customer CAD review and completion of 3D models / fully dimensioned 2D drawings.
3. Liaise with customers regarding technical concerns identified during initial inquiry.
4. Feasibility check and complete.
5. Potential supplier selection.
6. Supplier offers review.
7. Initial RFQ review with sales team.
8. Hold regular meetings with individual territory teams regarding APQP documentation.
9. Ensure feasibility documentation is completed accurately by suppliers and stored correctly within project files.
10. Technical support with queries from Company to Manufacturer.
11. Review PPAP trackers on a regular basis without presence of territory teams, ensuring documents are being completed and tracked as required.
12. Assist Quality team in designing and implementing appropriate inspection plans especially with relation to complex CMM parts.
13. Assist Quality team with PPAP submissions where required.
14. Mediate with customer SQA/STA on concerns raised during PPAP submission.
15. Expedite PSW approval as necessary.
16. Respond to queries and concerns in a timely manner both Telephone and Email contact.
17. Attend customer site visits.
18. Recommend parts for use in customer applications that already exist in the company portfolio, enabling a cost-effective solution to both parties.
19. Engage a proactive approach to development of new parts.
20. Active involvement in 8D completion and submission to Customer.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Multi-disciplined engineering background with experience in any of these fields – Production Engineering, Industrial Fasteners, Pressings, Turned Parts, Plastic Injection moulding/rubber, castings or forging.
2. Experience with the automotive industry.
3. Customer facing experience.
4. Ability to communicate at all levels.
5. Experience with Auto desk Inventor would be beneficial.
