The post holder will primarily provide administrative and clerical support to the Radiology/Mammography Department, which includes direct patient interaction. Responsibilities also involve data entry into the EPIC and ICE computer systems.

Main duties of the job
* To work within the Radiology Department, undertaking reception and clerical duties, and scheduling appointments in accordance with the needs of the Radiology Directorate.
* To process incoming referrals and book patient appointments based on clinical priority, adhering to the Radiology Department's protocol.
* To assist Radiographers, Sonographers, and Nursing staff in ensuring the smooth operation of the department. This includes greeting patients, verifying demographics, examination details, referrer and GP information, and ensuring accurate documentation of patient records.
* The role also involves telephone communication with patients and clinicians.
* This is a patient-focused, service-oriented, and varied role.

Job responsibilities
The Receptionist will be primarily responsible for facilitating smooth check-in processes for patients attending the department. They will assist with patient queries and direct patients to the correct area for their appointments.
Some of the key tasks and responsibilities include:
* Welcome patients, visitors, and hospital staff to the department with a friendly, polite, and empathetic manner, ensuring a helpful and professional approach.
* Support the implementation of Government, Trust, and Departmental quality and business initiatives.
* Actively encourage and respond to feedback as part of the department's quality improvement initiative.
* Liaise with GP practices, hospital staff, and associated agencies, both internally and externally, in a polite and professional manner, taking appropriate action or escalating issues as necessary.
Person Specification
Experience/Knowledge
* Experience of working in Care/Healthcare
* Basic knowledge of the NHS and/or Radiology
* Previous experience of working in FHFT Radiology
* NVQ in Care or equivalent relevant caring experience.
* Previous experience of X-Rays and Radiological Procedures
