SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Southampton Start Date: Immediate Contract: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time Salary Scale: £12.82 to £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience) GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our client schools in Southampton. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting students with special educational needs (SEN), helping them engage fully in their learning journey. The SEN Teaching Assistant will provide targeted support to students, assisting with academic tasks, managing behaviour, and fostering a nurturing environment for individual development. Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant: Provide one-to-one and small group support to SEN students. Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students. Foster an inclusive and supportive environment for students. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff. Manage behaviour in a positive and constructive manner. Required Qualifications for an SEN Teaching Assistant: Experience working with children or young people with SEN. Relevant qualifications in SEN or a related field are desirable. Strong interpersonal skills and an empathetic approach. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
