Job Summary
The postholder will:
1. Validate and monitor the Trust's performance against the Referral to Treatment 18 week waiting times standards, ensuring patients receive treatment within the required timescales through monitoring and auditing elective patient pathways.
2. Work as a member of the pathway tracking team acting as a 'local expert' on patient pathway RTT 18 week guidance, reporting mechanisms and service improvements that will improve patient experience & facilitate the provision of accessible and high quality care.
3. Be key in overseeing RTT 18 week performance management, providing expertise & support for the delivery & achievement of patient RTT standards.
Main duties of the job
1. To work closely with Service Managers, Central Booking Office, Assistant Service Managers, Clinical Office Team Leaders, Appointments Centre, Clinical Office Staff and Outpatient teams within the division to ensure patients are actively managed through patient pathways.
2. To monitor patient's pathways from referral, through diagnostics, treatment planning and treatment, highlighting any potential delays in the pathway and ensuring accurate data collection to support the process and report to clinical offices any discrepancies.
3. To ensure that appropriate requests for investigations are monitored following the clinician's instructions. If diagnostic delays occur or appear imminent liaise with the relevant service for action.
4. To liaise with members of individual specialties management teams and the Trust to ensure coordination of all elements of patient pathways. This may include highlighting patient target dates etc. to ensure that investigations are carried out and results received in a timely manner.
5. To ensure all information relating to the patient's pathway clearly identifies all relevant target dates to aid other users of the relevant systems, such as Cerner, evolve, LUNA etc in allocating resources appropriately.

Essential
* Administrative medical specialty knowledge gained by education or relevant experience.
* Ability to deal with non-routine situations and information and take appropriate decisions, with knowledge and skills to degree level by qualification or through experience.
* Excellent IT skills.
Desirable
* Full range of administrative experience within the NHS.
* Experienced knowledge of waiting list management & patient pathways.
* Experience knowledge of Cerner.
