Mechanical Project Manager
Location: Manchester City Centre
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum, dependent upon experience
Hours: 40 hours per week, 7am – 4pm or 8am – 5pm
My client is a North West based electrical and mechanical engineering contractor, boasting a prolific portfolio spanning all manner of works, including lighting, heating, air-conditioning, ventilation, plumbing, power, communications, security, and much more. They offer services in conception and design, procurement, project management, installation, commissioning and hand over, through to preventative maintenance programs and emergency repairs.
Due to expansion, they are currently seeking a Mechanical Project Manager with a proven track record in both the private and public sectors. The successful candidate will need to keep pace with change and have expertise, working collaboratively and flexibly, within cross-functional teams to deliver on performance objectives.
Role Profile:
The Mechanical Project Manager will be part of the project site team, dealing directly with the Company Director and working alongside other Electrical Project Managers. The ideal candidate will have experience in Mechanical Project Management, ideally with a track record in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage and coordinate all Mechanical services installation and testing from conception to completion of project.
2. Understand the project and the systems within the project in-depth.
3. Work closely with the Principal Contractor to build and coordinate an agreed sequence of works.
4. Order materials and equipment whilst following company protocols/procedures.
5. Specialise on projects in AOV, Vent, Plumbing, AC & Chilled water.
6. Direct all site management staff including site supervisors and engineers.
7. Manage all Mechanical Sub Contractors.
8. Generate and track RFI’s.
9. Generate and review valuations and project variations.
10. Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve emerging issues.
11. Analyse, manage, and mitigate risks.
12. Supervise and manage H&S on site.
13. Ensure compliance with building and safety regulations.
14. Oversee and manage on-site Quality Assurance & Quality Control checks.
15. Regularly attend meetings as required.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
1. Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
2. Industry recognised qualification in Plumbing.
3. HNC or Equivalent qualification in Building Services Engineering / HVAC.
4. Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships.
5. A motivated and enthusiastic team player.
6. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
7. Ability to work towards deadlines.
8. Discretion and trustworthiness.
9. Proactive and able to take initiative.
10. Flexibility and adaptability.
11. Knowledge of standard software packages.
