Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust has two openings for a Staff Nurse. You would be joining the Vaughan Thomas Ward, to join part of the Adult Inpatient Service.
As a Staff Nurse you will work as part of our Multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality care to our patients and support our Trust on its Journey to Outstanding Care.
This would be a varied and progressive role - we have a culture of continuous professional development and as a Staff Nurse we expect you to embrace change and engage in Quality Initiatives on the Ward to improve the service we provide. You will work within a needs-led model of care and will work in co-production with patients.
This position is open to applicants who are either registered mental health nurses or final year student nurses.
Vaughan Thomas Ward is an 18-bedded mental health male acute ward with a Health Based Place of Safety. We provide care and treatment for up to 18 patients, experiencing a variety of mental health problems, along with physical and social needs.
You will have an opportunity to work with supportive teams and committed colleagues in a role that requires:
1. Responsibility for the co-ordination and management of the ward for a span of duty
2. Assisting in every aspect of the management of an acute inpatient unit
3. Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care to patients and carers
4. Providing high quality of holistic nursing care to patients and carers
5. Contribution to the development of acute inpatient service
It is mandatory for you to complete Positive Engagement and Caring Environment (PEACE) training which involves learning safe and least restrictive restraint techniques, along with Immediate Life Support, and other training directly related to the job.
You will work a rotating shift pattern Early, Late and Nights to cover our 24 hour 7 day a week service.
