With a sustained growth plan for 2025, we are now looking for a ‘Seat Trim and Finish Engineer’ to join our growing and passionate team of Engineers. This role will be a key part of the design team developing cushions and covers which will include attachment strategies and a focus on efficient design. Working closely with suppliers, you will develop cushion and covers sets to achieve the exacting standards expected by our customer experience team.

About the role
You will work closely with other Mirus functional teams and external stakeholders to ensure effective & efficient design and development, including Design for Manufacture & Assembly, cost, weight, reliability and performance.
YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBLITLIES:
In your role as our Seat Trim & Finish Engineer, you will:
* Contribute as a key member in the product development process. Having influence on the aesthetic and functional execution of covers and cushions and the attachment methods used. Innovation is at the forefront of this role to find new techniques and develop unique design solutions for our product ranges.
* Take ownership for the design & development of cushion and covers achieving comfort, reliability, performance, aesthetic, cost & weight targets.
* Work closely with suppliers to develop the design, taking into consideration supplier capability and piece cost, as well as identifying & exploiting opportunities for technical or commercial advantage.
* Produce high quality 3D & 2D design definition using Solidworks and PDM, along with supporting documentation.
About you
To help Mirus continue our journey of growth, you will bring your expertise within a design development capacity, creative flare, a passion for problem solving and drive for best in class along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:
An engineering degree/Technical qualification/HND or HNC or material and surfaces design and development qualifications
* A good understanding of engineering principles and design methodologies.
* Proficiency in CAD software and design tools - training and assistance will be given if Solidworks is not your primary software.
* Previous knowledge of PDM systems.
* Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy in their work
Desirable:
* Experience of developing aircraft products ideally interior, automotive interior or seating environment desirable.

* Diligent, enthusiastic, and driven, with an excellent work ethic, and a “can do” attitude
* Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to propose innovative ideas
