Description
Eminox designs and manufactures exhaust aftertreatment systems, reducing emissions from heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, this role is based on site at Gainsborough.
The Principal Electrical Engineer is a senior position in the team which develops electronic systems and strategies targeted at lowering vehicle emissions.
This role would suit an experienced electrical engineer with proven technical capability in the field of industrial/marine or automotive electrical controls systems.
The controls team develop the control strategies and program the ECUs used for aftertreatment control, the electrical engineer will design the interface between the ECU and all the control actuators and sensors.
The control panels are designed for industrial and marine applications; the principal engineer will take responsibility for ensuring that the designs meet the legislative requirements.
Overview of duties:
* Define, deliver and take responsibility for control panel design.
* Provide complete functional, schematic, layout and assembly drawings of the control systems.
* Define technical solutions to meet top level, customer needs / requirements.
* Create documentation to explain system functionality, commissioning, maintenance and fault diagnostics.
* Work with 3rd party suppliers to agree costing and timing plans.
* Manage time between multiple projects and into production.
* Develop processes and process flows towards compliance with recognised standards.
* Build prototype control systems and rigs.
* Manage priorities, timelines and overall direction.
* Mentor, Develop and train junior engineers.
* Hardware issue resolution managed and communicated.
* On-site setup and commissioning.
About you
* The ideal candidate will have a track record of designing electrical control panels based around PLCs / Controllers to meet functional requirements.
* It is essential that you hold In depth knowledge of control panel electrical schematics and layout design.
* Has trained and mentor junior engineers
* Willingness to learn aftertreatment system fundamentals
* Demonstrated problem solving skills and techniques
* Can work effectively within teams and liaise across functions with clear communications skills
* Understands electrical fundamentals, cable sizing, fusing, etc.
* Can specify electrical components for the system and interpret datasheets.
* Ideally an expert in electrical CAD software such as WSCAD.
