MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To ensure all plant and equipment is maintained and repaired, as appropriate, to ensure that it remains fully operational; to identify and implement process and machine developments and install infrastructure to enable current and planned plant to operate.
Specialism: Install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting systems. Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers. Identify electrical problems using a variety of testing devices. Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools. To design and install PLC systems and programmable relays to update existing equipment. Replace and program DC bus AC drives as required.
Maintenance:
* To ensure all machinery and equipment (specifically electrical) is maintained to a safe standard, giving due regard to any legislation regarding health and safety, and reporting any faults immediately to line management.
* To carry out emergency repairs, outside of normal office hours.
* To ensure monthly maintenance schedules are completed satisfactorily and where possible to use the data to predict failures and rectify them before they occur.
* Identify and ensure availability of critical spares.
* To ensure that all equipment is operated in a safe manner and report any deviations immediately to line management.
* To maintain confidentiality regarding the design and operation of machinery and equipment.
* To identify cost-effective solutions to process requirements by discussion with individuals, their line management, and appropriate experts.
* To ensure that any tools or plant are purchased in line with the company purchasing policy.
* To ensure safe working and compliance with COSHH and H&S regulations.
Process Improvement:
* To design, develop, and introduce manufacturing process improvements.
* To carry out process improvement projects such as designing PLC control to replace manual systems.
* To maintain a general awareness of external machinery developments and recommend future developments that are likely to benefit the company.
* To carry out any other reasonable task requested by management.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Qualifications to comply with legislation: 18th Edition IET wiring regulations.
* Qualifications for Competence Include:
* General Engineering
* Electrical Installations and understanding wiring diagrams.
* Electronics
* PLC Design and programming
* Install and commission Drive Systems
* Panel design and wiring
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
