Job Title: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Part-Time)
Hourly Rate: $52.88 - $67.30 commensurate with experience
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a 12-month Part-Time 20.0-29.5 hours per week position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday during business hours (8:00am-4:30pm). Evening work may be required on rare occasions as job duties demand.
Required Education and Experience:
* Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Nursing with focus on Psychiatric nursing
* Appropriate NYS Professional Certification and Licensure
* Ability to work with both adult and youth/child populations
* Experience in providing service to individuals with disabilities preferred
* 3+ years of experience as a psychiatric provider
* Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in Psychiatric Mental Health (PMH) as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
* An unrestricted license to practice as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) in the state of New York
* Valid DEA number and unrestricted DEA license in New York
* Registration with the state Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) in New York
* No suspension/exclusion/debarment from participation in federal health care programs (e.g. Medicare, Medicaid, SCHIP)
* Maintain credentials and licensure with all major insurance companies and licensing boards with the assistance of credentialing staff
* Demonstrated ability to plan and organize the daily operations of the department or program
* Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
* Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment in planning, implementing and evaluating work with individuals, customers, and staff
* Demonstrated tolerance for stressful interactions and situations
* Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and general computer skills
* Knowledge and proficiency in use of Electronic Health Record System
Summary/Objective: The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMNNP) will provide outpatient psychiatric evaluation and medication management services to adult and youth clients with behavioral health issues. The PMNNP will ensure all Psychiatric services provided by the agency are focused on accomplishing the CP Rochester Mission, Vision and Values and that the services meet the goals of the department and the agencies.
Essential Functions:
* Imparts agency philosophy to clients, families, program staff and community resources
* Provide clinical psychiatric services, including evaluation and management services; counseling and/or coordination of care, prescription management, on-call services and all applicable documentation requirements
* Maintains confidentiality of information relating to individuals and their families in accordance with agency policy
* Ensures compliance with regulatory agency such as NYDOH and OMH
* Provides oversight and coordination of all patient schedules to ensure compliance with CMS and treatment frequency requirements
* After-hours coverage may be needed, as agreed upon with after-hours coverage shared on a weekly basis among prescribers
* Communicates effectively with staff, service providers, individuals, caregivers, family members, and the community
* Demonstrates professional demeanor and serves as a role model for other staff and consumers
* Participates in conferences, workshops and in-service training as needed or recommended to enhance job skills and personal growth and development
