What It Takes:
An important part of the staff role is to support the needs of individuals through the ethos and values of Praxis Care. So the ability to be resilient, to communicate effectively and to utilise a variety of communication tools is essential.
Our dedicated staff team supports our individuals to learn and develop their skills to aid in their independence. Each staff member has something to bring to the role, and we encourage staff to use their humour, sense of fun, and creativity in supporting our individuals with day-to-day life.
Where You Would Work: Dunleer Day Service, Dunleer, Co. Louth
Dunleer Day Service offers a community-based day service to 11 adults with autism and intellectual disabilities. We strive to provide a person-centered service and work in partnership with service users, their families, and stakeholders to support the individual in a way that meets their needs. We aim to enhance each individual’s quality of life by supporting them to build and develop a range of skills, which can include daily living skills, social skills, and safety skills. We support service users to access bridging programmes to vocational training and support for inclusion in their local community. Each service user is allocated a key worker and is supported to develop a timetable that reflects their likes and needs. Our staff have a strong value base and believe in empowering each person that attends our service. The team is equipped with the knowledge and skills to deliver the person-centered support required, and we focus on implementing positive behavior support. Dunleer Day Services work is guided by the HSE New Directions Interim Standards and the National Framework for Person-Centered Planning.

Salary Details:
Activity Facilitator
Part-Time Position Available (15 hours per week)
€27,990 - €38,844 per annum*
*Salary based on 39 hours per week. Salary dependent on experience
