What the Job Involves As a YOS Operations Manager, your primary role is to prevent offending and re-offending by children and young people by providing effective services as required by various legislative acts. You will manage the day-to-day operations of the multi-agency Youth Offending Service while advising senior management on serious incidents and managing risk. You will assist in developing Youth Justice and YOS Improvement Plans, contribute to strategic reports, oversee assessment and risk management, and supervise multi-agency staff. Your responsibilities include being involved in case management, staff training, performance monitoring, and service representation, ensuring compliance with both local and national policies. You will manage staff from diverse professional backgrounds, guide them with performance appraisals, training, and formal supervision. You'll develop strategies to improve service effectiveness, be involved in project management, and respond to grievances or disciplinary matters as needed. The role includes liaising with various partners to plan preventative interventions and achieve local and national performance targets while promoting equality and health and safety in all duties. You will represent YOS interests in strategic forums and ensure that objectives are met in planning and implementation.
