We are looking for a 1-1 support worker to support a young lady with autism based in Wallington. The shifts are 10 hours per day on Friday, Saturday & Sunday, with pay starting from £14 upwards depending on qualifications and experience. This is a very rewarding role with great benefits.
As a Support Worker, you will have previous experience in supporting children with autism, be passionate about making a difference, and be willing to work long shifts on weekends. The role includes personal care tasks and the opportunity to develop strong, meaningful connections with the young person you support.
You will provide 1:1 support to a young girl with autism, assisting with daily routines and activities, and support her with communication needs, adapting your approach to her individual style of communication. You will assist with personal care tasks as needed, ensuring her dignity and comfort at all times, and accompany her on community outings, helping her to engage in social activities and build confidence. You will work closely with her family and professionals, including therapists, to ensure a consistent and tailored approach to care. You will complete daily logs and reports to document progress and identify areas for improvement, following safeguarding procedures and maintaining a safe, supportive environment. You will build a positive and trusting relationship with the young person, creating a nurturing environment where she can thrive.
Essential Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children, particularly those with autism or additional needs.
* Patience, compassion, and a genuine desire to support children in their development.
* Confidence in providing personal care and assisting with day-to-day tasks.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt your approach to individual needs.
* A reliable, dedicated individual who can commit to working three 10-hour shifts on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
