The post is Trust wide, but it is expected that the majority of activity will be based at the UHND site, and its surrounding community bases Provide specialist Obstetrics & Gynaecology services to patients across the Trust Provide emergency Gynaecology cover Provide elective Antenatal services Diagnostic/Emergency Gynaecology surgery depending on post holder experience and skills Attend the Evidence Based Guidelines meetings, review and updating Obstetrics & Gynaecology guidelines. Attend weekly risk meetings Work well in a multi-disciplinary team with enthusiasm to lead and develop services Undertake clinical shifts in the Department at the direction of the Clinical Director for Obstetrics and Gynaecology including participation in the on-call/out of hours/weekend rotas Conduct regular clinical reviews of patients at appropriate intervals with doctors in training ensuring that the patient records (including discharge summaries) are accurately up-dated after review of each patient Conducts clinical review and clinical management of patients referred to Outpatient services Supports and liaises with patients, families, colleagues, support staff and external agencies to provide coordinated multidisciplinary care Takes a leadership and mentoring role for doctors in training and others within the Department Responsible for covering Colleagues periods of annual leave and short-term sickness
