The Role As SENCO, you will lead and manage the school’s provision for students with special educational needs, ensuring they achieve their full potential in an inclusive and supportive environment. You will work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement effective strategies, interventions, and support plans tailored to individual student needs. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and coordinate SEN provision across the school. Develop and implement the SEN policy, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Support teaching staff in differentiating lessons and delivering quality teaching for students with SEN. Lead the assessment and identification of students requiring additional support. Maintain up-to-date records and provide regular progress updates to parents and carers. Manage a team of Learning Support Assistants and other relevant staff. Work closely with external agencies to secure additional resources and expertise. What We’re Looking For: A qualified teacher with QTS and experience in secondary education. National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to achieve it within three years of appointment). Proven experience of working with students with a range of special educational needs.
