About the Role
In this role, you’ll be supporting an intelligent, determined young woman transitioning from hospital to her own home. With a bubbly personality and a sharp sense of humour, she is passionate about advocating for the autistic community and delivers autism training. In her free time, she enjoys music, trampolining, fashion, and exploring new areas.
She requires staff who can connect with her, understand her needs, and respect her as the expert in her own life. She values a humanistic approach and needs someone willing to learn from her.
She is autistic, has a moderate learning disability, anxiety, OCD, and pathological demand avoidance, which can lead to behaviours that challenge. She also has a sleep disorder, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, Raynaud’s, and well-controlled epilepsy.
