Role Responsibilities:
1. Work across the Manufacturing Engineering community (e.g., MEMs, Special Process Owners, Producibility Engineers, Production Support) and with suppliers to drive improvements to manufacturing processes and work toward consistent best practice.
2. Support the development of the Manufacturing Engineering community by coaching best practices for the industrialisation of technical packages for the submarines industry.
3. Continually improve the technical package standards and ways of working for achieving product Quality, Cost, and Delivery commitments.
4. Manage the mechanism that delivers the right improvement priorities in collaboration with the Delivery Business Units (DBUs).
5. Provide support across the different DBUs and the Submarines Enterprise, helping to drive and embed the functional improvement plan.
Who We’re Looking For:
To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:
1. Professionally qualified Engineer (UK minimum BEng degree or other national equivalent).
2. UK CEng (Chartered Engineer) or other national equivalent.
3. Good understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to the business.
4. General awareness of Manufacturing Systems (CAD, CAM, CAPP, Manufacturing Execution System, Manufacturing Intelligence, SAP, Technical Publications, etc.) relevant to the business.
5. Experience leading significant projects/activities across a range of Manufacturing Engineering processes.
6. Experience with manufacturing change through facility redesign, technology insertion, new product introduction, process revalidation, and quality improvement.
7. Provided technical and professional leadership to a team of Engineers.
