As we grow, we’re seeking a motivated Sales Development Representative to help drive further growth, especially within the trade and commercial sectors. About the Role The Sales Development Representative will manage inbound inquiries while actively reaching out to potential clients, including landscape gardeners, commercial clients, and other trade customers. This role requires a balance of inbound sales and outbound development work, 60/40 split with a focus on building strong client relationships and maximizing sales opportunities. Responsibilities Inbound Sales : Handle incoming inquiries, understand customer needs, and recommend the right products. Use product knowledge to cross-sell and upsell where appropriate, ensuring every interaction is professional and customer-focused. Outbound Sales Development : Identify new business opportunities, conduct outbound calls to generate leads, follow up on warm leads, and re-engage past clients. Schedule virtual or in-person meetings to introduce our product range and drive sales. Relationship Management : Develop and maintain long-term relationships with trade clients. Regularly check in to understand evolving needs, provide product updates, and explore upsell opportunities. Sales Process Management : Use CRM tools to record interactions, track sales, and manage follow-ups. Contribute insights on customer responses to improve the sales process. Product Knowledge and Market Awareness : Stay informed about Hedges Direct products, industry trends, and competitors. Identify opportunities for differentiation. Collaboration and Continuous Improvement : Participate in sales training, team meetings, and collaborate with marketing on sales promotions. Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets. Qualifications Experience : Proven sales experience in telesales, inside sales, or a similar customer-facing role. B2B/B2C experience preferred. Required Skills Sales Skills : Strong sales acumen with a proven track record. Ability to handle objections, close deals, and provide value-driven solutions. Communication : Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly. Initiative : Proactive, self-starter with experience in outbound sales. Comfortable making cold calls and developing new business. CRM Proficiency : Familiarity with CRM systems to manage leads and follow-ups. Organization : Strong time management and organizational skills. Product Knowledge : Eagerness to learn about horticulture; knowledge of plants and hedging is a plus.
