Level 2 Animal Care and Welfare Assistant required for a busy pet superstore in Exeter. You will be responsible for all aspects of caring for the animals, ensuring all documentation is carried out, all welfare standards are met whilst also supporting the running of the day to day store.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
* The Animal Carer is a key role for the operations of the store, being the first point of contact and having a duty of care for all animals housed.
* The Animal Carer will provide to all husbandry and welfare needs, while being responsible for ensuring internal livestock documentation is carried out and completed accurately on a day to day basis, having a responsibility to follow and abide by ‘The Five Animal Needs’.
* The Animal Carer will lead by example to ensure all livestock welfare standards and policies are followed and met, while supporting and maintaining a well-presented store with the smooth running of day-to-day activities.
