Main duties of the job Responsible and accountable for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programs of care without supervision. To lead and monitor the performance and standards of care within the Nursing Team. To take the lead on projects as appropriate. In conjunction with the unit Matron and other Sister/Charge Nurses, facilitate the development of the service and personal development of all nursing staff within the clinical area of responsibility. To deputise for the unit Matron in their absence, attending appropriate meetings, maintaining an organized and structured workforce. To coordinate capacity and flow throughout the unit working closely with capacity teams and the emergency department.
