Key Responsibilities
1. Tender Pricing & Cost Estimation: Prepare competitive, detailed cost estimates for rail, civil engineering projects.
2. BOQs & Take-Offs: Review drawings, specifications, and scope documents to develop Bill of Quantities.
3. Supply Chain & Procurement: Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to source accurate pricing/material rates.
4. Risk & Value Engineering: Identify potential risks and opportunities within tenders to optimise pricing strategies.
5. Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to refine pricing.
6. Data & Cost Benchmarking: Maintain and develop a pricing database to ensure estimates are market-aligned.
What We’re Looking For
1. Experience: 3+ years in an Estimator role within rail, civil engineering, or infrastructure.
2. Software Proficiency: Competence in Excel, Estimating Software, and take-off tools.
3. Analytical Mindset: Detail-oriented with a commercially strategic approach to pricing.
4. Negotiation Skills: Able to liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive rates.
5. Ability to Work Under Pressure: Managing multiple tenders and pricing requests within tight deadlines.
6. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of rail and civil engineering methodologies and standard pricing models (e.g., NR Schedule of Rates, CESMM, RMM, NEC/NR Contracts).
Why Join PACE?
1. Growth & Development: Be part of a fast-scaling business with real career progression opportunities.
2. Innovation & Challenge: Work on diverse, high-profile projects where your input truly matters.
3. Supportive Team Culture: A dynamic and collaborative work environment that values expertise and fresh ideas.
