UI/UX Developer (Front-end) Nelson BB9 - Hybrid Permanent, (37.5 hours) Competitive Salary plus benefits We are looking for a UI/UX Developer who can turn innovative designs into seamless, user-friendly interfaces - Help us bridge the gap between design and functionality As a Front-End Developer you will build, optimise, and maintain the user interfaces of our web applications. You will transform design mock-ups into responsive, dynamic, and accessible web pages that deliver seamless user experiences. Working closely with designers, back-end developers, and stakeholders to create clean, efficient, and maintainable code. What you will be doing: Web Development: Build and maintain responsive web applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Develop user interfaces based on design wireframes and mock-ups. Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility for seamless user experiences. Collaboration: Work closely with UX/UI designers to implement visually appealing and user-friendly designs. Collaborate with back-end developers to integrate front-end interfaces with APIs and back-end systems. Performance & Optimisation: Optimise websites for speed, scalability, and performance. Debug and resolve front-end issues to ensure a smooth user experience. Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code following best practices. Conduct regular code reviews and contribute to team discussions on improving development processes. Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in front-end development. Suggest and implement innovative solutions to improve user interfaces and workflows. What you'll need to bring: Required Skills and Qualifications: Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6). Experience with modern front-end frameworks/libraries like React.js, Vue.js, or Angular. Familiarity with CSS pre-processors such as SASS or LESS. Knowledge of responsive and mobile-first design principles. Proficiency with version control tools like Git. Experience with task runners/build tools like Webpack, Gulp, or Vite. Familiarity with browser debugging tools and performance testing. Understanding of usability, accessibility (WCAG standards), and user-centred design principles. Preferred (but not required): Familiarity with TypeScript Experience with GraphQL, or RESTful API integration. Knowledge of front-end testing frameworks like Jest, Cypress, or Enzyme. Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows. An understanding of back-end technologies for smoother collaboration (e.g., Node.js, or database basics).
