We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced day to day Reading Specialist Teaching Assistant to support our students in developing their reading skills. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to implement reading programs, provide one-on-one and small group support, and create a positive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the planning and delivery of reading intervention programs.
* Work with students individually and in small groups to improve reading skills.
* Support classroom teachers in the development and implementation of literacy strategies.
* Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
* Create a stimulating and supportive learning environment.
* Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.
* Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions.
Qualifications and Experience:
* A minimum of a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
* Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably with a focus on reading or literacy.
* Strong understanding of phonics and reading intervention strategies.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Desirable:
* Previous experience in a primary school setting.
* Training in specific reading programs or interventions.
* Knowledge of the National Curriculum and assessment methods.
