Key Responsibilities: Assist the Head Pastry Chef in daily pastry operations to ensure smooth and efficient service Prepare and present a range of desserts, pastries, and baked goods to a consistently high standard Support menu development by contributing ideas and testing new creations Ensure your section is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation Train, support, and mentor junior team members in pastry techniques and best practices Oversee stock control for the pastry section, ensuring freshness and quality of ingredients Uphold strict food hygiene and safety regulations at all times Support delivery of pastries for banquets, events, and seasonal offerings Monitor time and quality during service, ensuring dishes are delivered promptly and to spec Person Specification: Essentials: Genuine passion for pastry, patisserie, and presentation. Solid knowledge of modern pastry techniques and dessert trends. Strong attention to detail and creativity in dish design. Previous experience in a similar role within a quality restaurant or hotel. In-depth understanding of food hygiene and safety regulations. Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Strong team player, reliable, and enthusiastic. Desirables: Experience managing large volume covers. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Food Safety Training. A willingness to share knowledge and continuously learn new skills. A culinary/ pastry degree or relevant professional certification is preferred. Shift Patterns: 45 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
