Environmental Health Safety Specialist
Our client is a world leader in Smart power, systems, and robotics. They are seeking a QHSE Specialist to join their ever-growing team. The role offers hybrid working with visits to the Birmingham office. The client is recognized as a Top UK employer.
Key Responsibilities – QHSE Specialist
1. Reports HSE incidents and updates relevant reporting tools, with support from LDM, feeding back on lessons learned and best practices.
2. Implementation of group Sustainability objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs).
3. Roll out Safety training to staff and partners as required.
4. Defines and develops Quality Strategies in line with client and external requirements, supporting their local adoption and deployment to improve Quality standards across the entire value chain.
5. Works with and supports the local management team to deliver the group HSE & Q targets and objectives, setting coherent and aligned QHSE priorities and targets, monitoring progress, analyzing QHSE KPIs, and acting on deviations from targets.
6. Deploys the standard quality improvement approach (i.e. 4Q) within all areas of the local organization to continuously improve business practices and performance.
7. Ensures the local organization has an effective management system addressing Quality, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental, and Wellbeing practices.
8. Implements policies and standards, ensuring areas of responsibility are audited according to the audit program, assisting line managers and supervisors in understanding obligations and liability according to local QHSE legislation.
9. Facilitates QHSE risk assessments/audits by line management involving shop floor employees, ensuring all processes are implemented.
10. Drives behavioral change through implementing Group-wide performance improvement programs and practices locally, ensuring a strong focus on Quality, health and safety culture, and wellbeing throughout the organization.
11. Engages external (e.g., customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders) and internal stakeholders to report on, raise awareness, and gain commitment on the clients QHSE efforts and performance, obtaining objective feedback.
Qualifications & Experience – QHSE Specialist
1. NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
2. Quality/Continuous Improvement experience within a complex, matrix organization.
3. Strong Electrical safety bias and experience.
4. Experience of working within a field Service environment.
5. Proven experience as a professional in QHSE with demonstrable leadership capabilities and a team-oriented attitude.
6. Full UK Clean driving licence.
