This service is the home of 2 individuals with learning disabilities/mental health. You will be working with these incredible individuals to support with day-to-day independence, enhance their various skills and support them with daily activities as well as providing emotional support The service is a maisonette housing two individuals and two self-contained flats within walking distance of Ammanford town centre. Our residents are very busy and active in the community; most undertake a lot of volunteering, and one has even been a participant in the Olympics. Aqua aerobics, Zumba and the cinema are also very popular activities. By being part of this team, you would play an influential role in enabling the people we support to lead fulfilling and independent lives and see first-hand how you make a difference to them. You will be expected to support with daily aspects of living, including: Medication administration Cooking skills and other household skills Some personal care needs Accessing the community and supporting to local groups Supporting with individuals’ hobbies and activities such as walking/hiking Being a team player and having good communication skills Completing relevant paperwork to a high standard Supporting individuals to budget finances Providing companionship to the people we support through talking about their interests and wellbeing Having fun by encouraging the supported individuals to take part in activities that enhance their life skills and promote independence Take the people we support out and about therefore a full manual driving licence is essential for this role Encouraging and supporting with cleaning and administrative duties Being able to bring fresh ideas to the team and implement different ways of working Supporting Individuals with their individual needs What skills and experience do you need? Due to the needs of the individuals in this service this is a female only service Due to the needs of the individuals we support in this service, a full UK manual driving licence is required A background of working with people with physical or mental health needs is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided. More important are.
