You'll be working in a unique and dynamic environment like no other. This role is heavily focused on Back of House, extending across the kitchen team whilst supporting the operation as a whole. Extensive food knowledge is essential, along with a clean drivers license and a forklift license (or the ability to obtain one). This role would suit a candidate with previous kitchen experience looking to broaden their skills in events or a knack for event operations. Off-Site Planning: Upholding and assisting with the implementation of all policies and procedures for hospitality logistics set up for the client. Liaising with the client for routing, scheduling delivery and collection of all freight with the support of senior management. Maintenance and submission of all freight stock and loading documentation. Work closely with the Head of Logistics, Head Chef and the technical team to ensure that all Health and Safety and Food Hygiene signage and documentation is up to date. Responsible for the ordering and stock control of all disposable items and chemicals for the operation to ensure minimal excess. Liaising with the client to ensure all sea freight heavy and light equipment is serviced and maintained ready for safe use by the Absolute Taste team. Collaborating with the BOH and FOH teams to ensure all sea freight equipment is packed safely and efficiently, before shipments. Working with the Head Chef to plan for provision of power and water installation at upcoming venues. Assisting upper management with a continual and proactive approach to regular cost comparisons for equipment procurement and maintenance for upcoming venues. Onsite: A key player in the set-up of the team motorhome or hospitality units at all events, including installation of power, AV, light and heavy kitchen equipment and dressing of the FOH area. I have removed the understanding of the freight so this part only indicates that they will be part of the set-up team. The tasks listed here are no more than Aoife or Harry do, so I would think that is a reasonable request. Document, with photographs, the full set up at each hospitality venue to ensure improvement of set up at each future event. During live event days (4 days per week), providing BOH support including kitchen porter duties (washing up), polishing crockery, cutlery and glassware, keeping back and front of house areas tidy, restocking fridges and bar backing. Assisting the culinary team with basic food preparation during peak service times. Shopping at local stores and markets to assist the culinary team with provision of all necessary ingredients for each event. Responsibility for monitoring and overseeing dry stores stock to ensure that waste is minimized, flagging any operational concerns. Oversee the loading, upkeep, scheduling and day to day running of the fridge trailer. Ensure all BOH areas are clean, tidy, kitchen equipment is washed and always ready for use and all areas are kept as safe working environments. Support Front of House operation during peak times to ensure smooth running of the operation at the highest possible standard. A key player in the de-rig and pack down of the team motorhome or hospitality units at all events, including dismantling all equipment and power and safely packing away and securing both large and light equipment into sea freight. Who we are looking for An organised and energetic individual with a methodical approach to work and life. Experience in a similarly fast paced environments is essential. The individual must show initiative and innovation, always willing to learn and to assist both Front and Back of House at every opportunity. You will be fully conversant with Food Safety and Health and Safety requirements with excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and able to work under pressure in a competitive market place to help gain market advantage. When joining the Absolute Taste team, it is important that you are a team player with an understanding of people, able to deliver results, have a ‘Can do and Will do’ attitude, be ethical and honest. The candidate must adhere to the standards of behavior and conduct expected by the client and Absolute Taste. The role requires a lot of travel and work abroad for approximately 25 weeks of the year, in line with the F1 calendar.
