Job Title: Senior Software Engineer (Automation)

The Senior Software Engineer will design, develop, test, and implement efficient integration and automation solutions that meet business and customer requirements.
About the role
* Deliver complex, technical process automations. Coding to the appropriate standards and principles which support the business strategy.
* Deliver superior quality output to engineering best practices.
* Participate in the development and review of standards, best practices, documentation and methods of working with Automation technologies leveraged by the organisation.
* Provide advice on technical aspects of automation and ensure that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices are applied correctly.
* Access to a broad range of technologies to produce high quality and robust solutions.
* Ensure automation platforms are managed to the satisfaction of the business, reporting on performance metrics, and looking for opportunities to continuously improve.
* Participates in peer reviews of deliverables and carries out formal and informal reviews of technical designs, standards, documentation and/or implementations.
About you
* Deep technical knowledge of and some experience working with industry recognised automation technologies such as Microsoft Orchestrator, Azure Automation, Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power Desktop, Copilot), or REST API programming. Alternatively, we welcome applications from experienced developers who are looking for a change and are eager to learn and work with these technologies.
* Experience of designing, building and operating automation services (front or backend) within a medium to large enterprise.
* Excellent communication, prioritisation, problem solving and relationship building skills and ability to apply analytical thinking.
* Good understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
* Proficient in one or more languages e.g. Powershell, Java, .Net, Python
* Familiarity with ServiceNow Development and SQL, advantageous but not required
* Ideally candidates will have experience/comfortable working in an agile environment.
* An excellent communicator and comfortable liaising with stakeholders at all levels.
* Some experience of administering Windows or Linux systems.
