KDS-S01 - Business Analyst
Job description
The University of Winchester Knowledge & Digital Services team is dedicated to enhancing all experiences for our students and colleagues through innovative information systems. Reporting to the Head of KDS Support, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in standardising, improving, and developing systems that support the University’s strategic objectives.
The ideal candidate will have experience in Business Analysis, particularly within a multi-disciplinary team environment. Supporting KDS Business Partners, they will be adept at engaging with stakeholders to understand their needs and translating these into actionable technical requirements. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as they will collaborate with various teams and facilitate workshops to drive project success. Candidates will also need to be confident to be the “critical friend” while scoping processes, workflows, and customer expectations.
Main duties include:
* Documenting and analysing business requirements and processes
* Defining problem scopes and business objectives through thorough analysis
* Collaborating with both technical and customer teams to design and deliver effective services
* Planning and facilitating stakeholder workshops to simplify complex projects
* Developing policies and guidelines to embed best practices in Business Analysis across KDS and key institutional partners
* Seeking to bring consolidation and centralisation of process across the ecosystem
* Where appropriate, reporting to senior management to clearly communicate proposals, achieving buy-in to projects at all levels
The successful candidate will be expected to work 37 hours per week, typically from Monday to Friday. A commitment to our university values and a passion for supporting educational initiatives are essential.
