Due to recently awarded tenders, a specialist civil engineering contractor is seeking to recruit an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to work on a major civils/infrastructure project in the West Midlands.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Working alongside a Senior/Managing QS
2. Overseeing cost control and commercial management for a major project
3. Reporting to and collaborating with Senior Commercial staff
4. Preparing monthly project commercial reports
5. Managing and mentoring a Quantity Surveyor
6. Ensuring accurate cost forecasting and budget management
7. Handling contract administration, particularly NEC
8. Maintaining effective communication with contractors and stakeholders
Requirements:
1. Relevant qualifications in quantity surveying (BSc/HNC or similar)
2. 1 - 3 years experience in quantity surveying on a civil engineering project within infrastructure, highways, structures, rail
3. Proficiency in cost control and contract management
4. Experience with NEC 3 contracts
5. Ability to work effectively in project teams
6. Excellent communication and analytical skills
