The Payroll Supervisor (HYBRID) will be a vital part of the Accounting and Finance team, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of payroll services within the company. Description Payroll Supervisor (HYBRID): Key Responsibilities: Ensure all employees are paid accurately and on time on a 4-weekly and monthly payroll across 4 companies, totaling approximately 3,000 employees. Oversee and manage assigned end-to-end payrolls, always working closely with the Group Head of Payroll, and addressing any discrepancies or complex payroll issues. Supervise the payroll coordinators handling each of the four different PAYE systems. Use initiative to resolve issues and assist the team where possible. Manage the workflow, review reports, and ensure timely and accurate payroll processing. Assist the Group Head of Payroll with submitting all RTI, FPS, and EPS to HMRC on a 4-weekly/monthly basis, making PAYE payments on time, and ensuring that tax and deductions for each PAYE system are calculated correctly. Calculate all statutory and HMRC deductions/payments for employees. Apply tax code notifications from employees and HMRC. Manage and maintain company mileage and company cars, submit private mileage figures, and process NIC/Class 1A contributions. Assist the Group Head of Payroll in analysing the variance report, justifying all variances, and undertaking additional controls before payroll approval. Input and check manual calculations for part-month and backdated payments. Support the Group Head of Payroll in managing the company pension schemes, such as LGPS and statutory pensions, enrolling new members, collecting contributions, and submitting to pension providers. Handle all year-end payroll duties, such as P60s and P11Ds, and assist the finance team with any issues relating to these payroll processes and associated audits. Maintain, update, and assist the Group Head of Payroll in creating relevant payroll policies and procedures. Coordinate with HR and Finance departments for any updates or changes related to payroll. Manage and coordinate the shared mailbox, ensuring it is kept up to date, and escalate/manage any complex queries such as those from HMRC, WPD, and CMS. Troubleshoot and resolve any payroll-related system issues, collaborating with Templa support when needed. Provide cover when other team members are on annual leave or absent. Profile A successful Payroll Supervisor (HYBRID) should have: Proven experience in a payroll supervisory or team leader role, or substantial experience as a Payroll Officer or Payroll Specialist ready to transition into a leadership position. Extensive knowledge of payroll systems and financial regulations. Experience in processing high-volume, in-house payroll from start to finish, including the ability to perform manual calculations. Strong attention to detail, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Advanced Excel ability, including expertise in lookups and pivot tables. Experience with a Time and Attendance system is advantageous but not essential. Job Offer Payroll Supervisor (HYBRID) role offers A competitive salary ranging between £35,000 - 40,000 per annum.
