East Lothian Council are looking to recruit Nursery Nurses/ Early Years Practitioners - full time/part time (full year) for their supply list.
Applications are invited from qualified Nursery Nurses available to work up to 35 hours per week across any of our nurseries and who are available immediately.
Casual recruitment.
Working across primary schools within East Lothian on an 'as and when required' basis.
Rate of Pay from £17.04 per hour.
We are currently seeking qualified (SVQ 3 or equivalent) practitioners for casual supply roles to work full or part time across the full year (48 weeks per year) in various locations.
The ideal candidates will be enthusiastic, caring, friendly with a passion and drive to help deliver a high-quality early learning and childcare service.
Knowledge and experience of Curriculum for Excellence/Pre-Birth to Three, GIRFEC, Building the Ambition and Setting the Table are preferred.
We work on the basis of 5 days per week between 8am and 6pm. Part time and full time supply work is available and applicants should be available to work throughout the year, (term time and school holidays).

Please note - All Supply Staff are expected to complete Child Protection Training on the Council’s e-learning system within one week of being added to the Supply Register.

Job Requirements
Relevant Qualifications
You must be educated to HNC level in Early Education and Childcare or hold SNNB/HNC/SVQ3 qualifications in Childcare/Education or equivalent and be able to evidence additional learning and knowledge of current practice and legislation in relation to Early Learning and Childcare.
SSSC registration
SSSC registration is an essential requirement of this role. If you are appointed and are not already a member of the relevant section of the SSSC Register, you will be required to apply for registration within 3 months of your start date to ensure that you are registered within the required 6 months.
PVG Membership
This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups are required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
