What you’ll be doing: We are looking for a Saturday library assistant to work on a Saturday for Slough Libraries If you want a part time job that offers you variety, challenge and opportunities to make a difference to people’s lives then the library assistant weekend role is perfect for you. You can help transform the lives of our residents and be part of a service that puts the needs of the communities of Slough at its heart You will be enthusiastic, energetic and share our passion for libraries. It is a front facing customer focused role welcoming and engaging with residents across our four libraries The Curve, Britwell, Cippenham and Langley You will support delivery of the day-to-day front line operations, working as part of a team to maintain our library opening hours You will have the right skills to deliver events such as story, songs and rhyme times, lego clubs and events for adults to promote and encourage the use of library services. You will have a keen interest in books and reading. As a Saturday Library assistant you must have good communication skills, and the resilience to deal with a broad range of customer queries. You will need good IT skills, and be able to work under pressure adapting and responding to changing situations. This role is required to work every Saturday from 10am – 5pm Slough Library Services: Slough library service is highly valued by both residents and members. The service is delivered through four sites in Britwell, Cippenham, Langley and The Curve, and online with access to e- resources including books, magazines and newspapers. We provide digital support to residents through access to public computers, printing and WiFi and events and activities to support reading and literacy.
