Senior Mechanical Engineer Opportunity in Oxford
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Oxford. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading and managing mechanical engineering projects from concept to completion.
Your primary focus will be on developing and implementing innovative and sustainable mechanical design solutions for buildings and infrastructure, including HVAC systems, heating, cooling, and water supply.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery and budget compliance.
* Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to ensure an integrated design approach.
* Conduct detailed calculations, simulations, and design work using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and IES.
* Oversee junior engineers, providing technical guidance and mentoring.
* Prepare technical reports, specifications, and project documentation.
* Attend client meetings, site visits, and design workshops, ensuring clear communication and effective project management.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
* Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it), with membership in a relevant professional body (CIBSE, IMechE, or equivalent).
* Proven experience (5+ years) in mechanical engineering design within the building services or construction industry.
* Strong knowledge of mechanical building services, including HVAC, energy systems, and water services.
* Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and IES.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to lead projects and collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients.
