Job Description:
Join Williams Racing as a Heritage F1 Senior Design Engineer. In this role, you will design and engineer Heritage F1 components, collaborate with the Chief Engineer, and support heritage car design, build, and operation.
Main Duties:
* Create schemes, detailed designs, and drawings for manufacture, assembly, and installation.
* Ensure designs maintain authenticity for heritage cars.
* Meet deadlines and support the Heritage Operations team and Heritage Chief Engineer.
* Address build and manufacturing queries, quality issues, and support assembly with documentation.
* Report faults and identify resolutions.
* Develop heritage engineering database from archives and documentation.
* Maintain communication with heritage department, suppliers, and customers.
* Support heritage placement students.
* Assist in preparation, build, and servicing of F1 cars and components to Williams standards.
* Maintain the heritage workshop, garage, and equipment to an elite standard.
Key Accountabilities:
* Align with Williams Values & Behaviours and health & safety obligations.
* Maintain high standards of behaviour and department presentation.
* Adhere to brand rules and quality standards.
* Contribute to continuous improvement and understand cost cap rules.
Qualifications:
* Relevant degree or equivalent with design experience in motorsport, aerospace, or related fields.
* Experience with Siemens NX CAD and TCE.
Core Competencies:
* Creative engineering and detailed design skills.
* Ability to interpret heritage archive data and create documentation.
* Basic hand calculations for components.
* Excellent verbal and graphical communication skills.
* Experience working with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
* Knowledge of F1 mechanical systems and assemblies, including suspension, steering, brakes, engine, fuel, cooling, and transmission.
* Understanding of composite structures and mechanical principles.
