Job Title: Part-time International Support Officer – Manchester
Contract Type: Casual
Working Hours: 15 to 37.5 hours per week
Location: Manchester (onsite)
Salary: £11.44 per hour plus holiday pay
Overall Purpose of the Job:
A support officer is responsible for providing professional administration support and customer service to international students and managing the whole cycle of their applications.
The key tasks include but are not limited to:
1. Share responsibility for the recruitment of international students and actively assist the team to achieve recruitment targets.
2. Provide high quality after-sales consultation and customer service.
3. Perform all administrative tasks involved in processing student applications, including preparing enterprise documents, forwarding them to the university, tracking their progress, and entering and updating information in student files.
4. Liaise with universities and students to track students’ applications, arrange interviews, and answer any general or specific enquiries as well as advocate on behalf of students.
5. Provide support for the recruitment of international students and actively assist the team to achieve targets.
6. Be available for ad hoc and regular company training when necessary and be prepared to deliver information sessions at regular company meetings. Also be available for university information sessions and familiarisation trips.
7. Maintain good communication with colleagues and keep the centre manager informed of application statuses or problems.
8. Undertake other relevant tasks as requested by the centre manager or the company.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experiences:
1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to speak Malay or access Malaysian student societies is a plus.
2. Excellent customer service and communication skills.
3. Responsible, mature, organised, and honest.
4. Committed team player but also dependable enough to work individually with minimum supervision.
5. Able to meet targets and deadlines.
6. Knowledge about the enrolment process for international students to UK universities is preferred.
7. The successful candidate must, by the start of employment, have permission to work part-time in the UK.
