We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to join our exciting programme to deliver new IT systems for a number of services across the Council.
The role
You will be working within our Strategic Commissioning Programme Team, responsible for delivering a programme of work over the next 12 months which will deliver a suite of new IT systems supporting services such as Customer Services, Planning, Environmental Health, and Finance.
Some of your key responsibilities will deliver:
* Proven skills in all facets of Project Management and Risk Management including Project Planning and Initiation, Stakeholder Management, Resource Management, Risk Management, Performance Monitoring and Reporting.
* Experience working on complex business change/improvement, and I.T service transition projects.
* Ability to design, develop and maintain technical project documentation in line with business need.
* Coordinate all stages of system procurement with close liaison with external procurement service and 3rd party suppliers.
* Coordinate democratic approval/sign off of project documentation.
* A solid understanding of IT systems, cloud experience critical, data cleansing/migration, system training.
* Co-ordinate system testing exercises (UAT) with end users, liaising closely with 3rd party suppliers to report testing feedback.
* Coordinate rollout of new internal and external systems including training, communication, testing and support procedures.

What do I need to have?
You’ll be an experienced IT project manager who has ideally previously worked to deliver new IT software solutions for council services. In particular comprehensive experience of managing projects through the software development lifecycle (inception, business case, procurement, requirements gathering, development, testing and implementation).
You will also use your diplomacy, negotiation and influencing skills to confidently support and build relationships with senior colleagues and service teams across the organisation in order to ensure successful delivery against a tight timescale.
