About the Role - Trainee Cover Supervisor
Upon completion of your training, as a Cover Supervisor, you will take charge of lessons for approximately 30 students when the class teacher is absent. You will provide coverage for a wide variety of secondary school subjects, and rest assured, subject expertise is not required. Lesson plans will always be provided in advance, and your role will focus on guiding students through the lesson, maintaining classroom discipline, keeping accurate attendance records, and ensuring a smooth handover to the regular teacher. Ideal candidates for this role are flexible, motivated, organized, confident, and passionate about supporting students' educational journeys.
This position presents an excellent opportunity to gain firsthand experience in a secondary school setting. While prior experience in a school is a plus, it is not essential. It’s also a fantastic option for degree holders who are keen to break into the education sector without previous school experience.
If you’re new to this role, we offer an extensive training program designed to equip you with the skills and confidence to excel.
About the Schools
We partner with a range of secondary schools in the Cornwall area. Successful candidates will cover lessons across Key Stage 3 (KS3), Key Stage 4 (KS4), and occasionally Key Stage 5 (KS5). While your assignments may align with subjects you're passionate about, you may also be asked to step in for more general lessons.
