About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Specialist Learning Support Assistant to join our team in North Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a supportive and nurturing environment. The role is focused on supporting students across the school, from Early Years to Key Stage 2.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and group support for pupils with additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and integrate into the classroom.
* Support pupils with behavioural challenges, providing intervention and implementing effective strategies to encourage positive behaviour.
* Assist in small group or 1:1 interventions, focusing on academic progress and social-emotional development.
* Work closely with the SEND team to deliver tailored support for individual students.
* Help pupils re-integrate into classroom settings, providing additional support where necessary.
* Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to ensure the success of SEND pupils.
Ideal Candidate:
* Experience supporting pupils with SEND, ideally within an educational setting.
* Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to support children with additional needs effectively.
* Experience in providing intervention and group work for pupils with SEND.
* A proactive, compassionate approach with a commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of students.
* Ability to work well as part of a team, supporting both pupils and staff.
* A passion for working with children and helping them reach their full potential.
