Job summary To manage a team of staff delivering responses to requests made under Data Protection, Access to Health Records and Freedom of Information Acts To be responsible for meeting deadlines by allocating and prioritising workload to those working within the compliance function. To assist with the day-to- day support, induction, and training of more junior staff. To ensure that all personal identifiable information is processed in a secure manner and to ensure confidentiality is always maintained To provide support for the management team within Information Governance. Where required carry out activities which support the provision of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit. To provide Information Governance Advice to all levels of staffing within the Trust. Main duties of the job To work as part of the Information Governance's management team To manage the Information Governance Team (Freedom of Information Support Officer and Disclosure Team) ensuring all requests for data are received centrally, recorded and processed in line with Trust / Data Protection Act/GDPR (DPA), Access to Health Records Act (AHRA) adhering to time limits and ensuring any applicable fees are reclaimed. Manage the delivery of compliance with Freedom of Information and Environment Information Regulations requests, as well as delivering operational requirements, acting as a point of expertise and advice in relation to these work streams and responding accordingly To manage and monitor IG Team standards and performance and provide monthly activity reports to the Information Governance Manager and ensure the Information Governance Team information resources, are kept up to date of all actions at all times. To support the Senior IG Officer in coordinating the completion of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit external assessment including identifying requirements, evidence and gaps. Support creating an action plan to secure evidence in time for submission. Contribute to development of IG standards and codes of practice within the Corporate Governance Team and Trust wide. The post holder will be on the scheme of delegation and will be expected to maintain office consumables using Unit 4.
