We are expanding our HSEQ team to support the growing needs of our business and are seeking an HSEQ Specialist to cover the South region of the UK. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to health, safety, quality, and environmental performance across our organisation, supporting our commitment to a safe and compliant workplace. This role will cover the south of the UK including the south west of England and south Wales, the south and the south east. To be visible within the business, you'll be based within commuting distance of any of the offices located in Bristol, Banbury or Aylesford. About You You are a proactive individual with experience in health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) disciplines. You hold a minimum NEBOSH Certificate, with Grad IOSH membership as a strong advantage. With a background in construction, lifting, manufacturing, heavy machinery, or a service-based business, you’re skilled at supporting a mobile workforce in regional operations. You bring energy, pragmatism, strong analytical abilities, and excellent communication skills, making you effective both independently and as part of a team. This role reports to the UK HSEQ Manager. Main Responsibilities: You will support the UK HSEQ Manager and regional management teams by: Implementing HSEQ processes and advising regional managers on UK health and safety legislation. Assisting in managing ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 systems to ensure compliance and continuous improvement. Conducting site audits, inspections, and promoting HSEQ best practices across the region. Mentoring and coaching team members to build HSEQ competencies across the business. Contributing to the management of HSEQ plans and KPIs for tracking and enhancing compliance and safety metrics. Reviewing and updating IMS documentation, policies, assessments, and systems of work to keep them aligned with Konecranes Global standards, UK legislation and industry standards. Maintaining SSIPs and other accreditations held, ensuring ongoing compliance with required certifications. Supporting the management and effective use of the Incident Management System (ARMOR), including inputting data and tracking follow-up actions. Participating in internal and external audit preparations, supporting HSEQ documentation, and assisting in vendor prequalification. Promoting a safety-first culture and contributing to HSEQ communications within the region. Traveling as required to provide direct support to regional teams, ensuring consistent HSEQ practices and addressing specific needs on-site. Qualifications You have: Essential: NEBOSH Certificate, preferably with Grad IOSH membership, and a solid understanding of the ongoing management of ISO standards (45001, 14001, and 9001). Desirable: ISO Auditor certification, Six Sigma qualifications, expertise in incident investigation and root cause analysis, and experience with behavioural-based safety and fostering a positive safety culture. Experience: Demonstrable HSEQ experience in a similar role in construction, manufacturing, lifting, heavy machinery, or service-based industries. Skills: Strong written and verbal communication for creating reports, delivering presentations, and providing training. Solid understanding of UK HSE legislation. Proficiency in managing and auditing ISO standards (45001, 14001, 9001). Expertise in risk assessment, hazard identification, and control measure development. Competence in incident investigation and root cause analysis methods (e.g., 5 Whys & Fishbone). Knowledge of safety management systems, including implementation and monitoring. Ability to evaluate complex systems and identify gaps or risks. Critical thinking to design and implement effective corrective actions and improvements. Efficient in managing multiple priorities, audits, and compliance tasks simultaneously. Attention to detail for maintaining accurate records and documentation. Coaching and mentoring abilities to build HSEQ competencies within teams. Collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams and external contractors. Promoting a safety-first culture and driving behavioural safety initiatives. Leading by example to inspire compliance and best practices. You'll be based within commuting distance to one of our offices, hybrid working can also be made available.
