Home, a place where you belong
Join us in this great and rewarding job as our Team Leader (known internally as Positive Behavioural Support Team Leader). You’ll manage our team and home to provide person-centred and strengths-based support to our customer (let's call him B) and help him reach his full potential.
B has complex needs including a moderate learning disability and autism. He loves dogs, films, and enjoys spending time at the seaside and the snooker club. B has some sensory processing difficulties and can react strongly to too much noise and to too many demands, necessitating a resilient team to support him.
Typical day as our PBS Team Leader
* You’ll manage a team of PBS Support Workers centred around a customer with complex presentations.
* You and your team will support customers with any aspect of their day-to-day living, working in a person-centred, strengths-based, and psychologically informed way to ensure the best possible quality of life.
* You’ll be in regular contact with your manager, updating, escalating, and reporting on all aspects of service delivery.
* You’ll be responsible for planning and overseeing complex support for customers who display behaviours of concern and may require personal care, working alongside Home Group’s local multi-disciplinary team.
* Motivating, directing, guiding, coaching, and supporting your team to work effectively with our customers.
* Managing all aspects of the home, including care plans, risk assessments, and audits.
Fancy going home each day knowing that you have helped change our customers' lives for the better? You’ll do that here, working for one of the top ten Great Places to Work in the UK!
You have
* Experience in CQC regulated services and a Level 4 Diploma in Adult Health & Social Care or equivalent, or be prepared to work towards it.
* Experience as a Senior Support Worker, leading support for people with complex needs or behaviours of distress.
* A patient and calm approach, able to adapt your style to B's needs, even when they challenge us.
* Excellent people management and motivation skills, fostering collaboration and creativity among colleagues.
* Experience in positive risk management, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of customers and colleagues.
* To help B get out and about, you’ll need to be able to drive. The great news is that we’ll pay your mileage!
Our team
You’ll join our growing PBS team in Norfolk, which includes our Registered Manager Bethany. You’ll also collaborate with our other Team Leaders and PBS workers, as well as our wider team. We’re proud of how we’re setting up our new care services in Norfolk and are continuing to grow over the next few months.
Job details
* You will work shifts throughout the week with every other weekend off, including 22.5 hours on shift and 15 hours for administrative tasks.
* You should be able to use technology to create and update support plans, communicate with colleagues, and complete online learning.
* We’ll ensure you have a fantastic induction with ongoing learning and support.
* You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check, which we will cover.
* You’ll be able to communicate with families to keep them updated and involved.
