Objective of role
Engaging with frontline staff on health and safety issues is key to this role.Through inductions, toolbox talks, site visits and conversations, can you land your message so that people listen and work more safely?If so then join our Direct Services Organisation (DSO) and play a pivotal role in maintaining the highest standards of health and safety.You will ensure our operations and facilities not only meet compliance requirements but exceed them and are continuously improving.
About the role
The DSO Compliance Officer role is a busy and varied role in which you will work as part of a team delivering vital work for residents throughout the borough.Your role will be to ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and standards. The role will include delivering toolbox talks, training sessions and new starter inductions, completing and reviewing risk assessments, making progress on action plans, conducting site visits/inspections and more.You will be working with a variety of stakeholders including the central health and safety team, heads of service and frontline staff.
This position demands clear communication skills, as you will be responsible for presenting information and conducting training sessions.The ideal candidate will possess the ability to adapt their communication style to suit different audiences, ensuring clarity and understanding across all interactions.

* Knowledge: We expect you to have a thorough understanding of the Health & Safety At Work Act alongside Construction Design and Management regulations.

* People Skills: We need someone who can build relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, communicate their message clearly, and positively influence the health and safety behaviours of others.
