NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
As we transform our Nutrition and Dietetic Services, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced autonomous HCPC Registered Dietitian to support delivery of Dietetic services in Fort William and the surrounding area.
You will be based at the Fort William Health Centre, which is a busy community and multidisciplinary team base. The community caseload is varied, providing a Dietetic service to inpatients, outpatients, care homes and care at home, and includes the full range of therapeutic dietary interventions. There is access to a range of specialities within dietetics for support and onward referral. There are plenty of opportunities for service improvement, project and community development work.
You will be part of the north NHS Highland Nutrition and Dietetic service and as such will have the benefit of a wide range of skills, knowledge and support with inter departmental supervision and peer learning. We support Dietetic student placements. We are developing innovative and trauma informed approaches to health and wellbeing, especially in regard to diabetes and weight.
Candidates will require post registration experience ideally within a multi-disciplinary team setting and we can support those who are new to community work. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, innovative, can work well in a team, and demonstrate good communication skills and leadership.
If you are interested in this post, or a variation of it, please contact Gail Lloyd, Community Dietetic Manager, email: gail.lloyd@nhs.scot or tel: 07483 179502

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
