Job Description:
Little Treasure Day Nursery – Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship
The Aspire Training Team are seeking a motivated, reliable and enthusiastic individual as an apprentice to complete their Level 3 Childcare qualification with Little Treasure Day Nursery.
Children learn when they are in a safe and caring environment where they are stimulated through play.
Babies and young children develop best when they are in a caring relationship with an adult. A baby will learn to walk faster when they have a safe pair of arms to walk towards and learn to talk when they have an adult listening and responding to them. At Little Treasure Day Nursery, all the games, activities and themes that we work with your child are for their development. Your child is assigned a key person who carries out the main settling in, planning and care routines.
The years from birth to five see the greatest growth and learning for all children and the main aims are for the child to have good health, be happy, feel safe and to be successful.
We will regularly observe the children and make records; these will enable us to make plans on how we can help them move onto the next stage of their development.
Your duties and responsibilities would include:
* To deliver quality play provision for children and their families in a safe, healthy, stimulating, and happy environment.
* To work within the aims and objectives of Little Treasure Day Nursery strategic plan.
* To communicate sensitively with parents/carers and children at all times.

* To provide high-quality play experiences which fully implement the Early Years Foundation Stage.
* As a Key person, participate in and keep all evidence of planning, tracking and learning outcomes for children.
* Work as part of a team which may include parents, students, and volunteers.
* To keep a daily register and other relevant records.
* To ensure that all accidents and incidents are recorded and be aware of the First Aid procedure used in the setting.
* To make the setting welcoming and, where possible, accessible to all children and parents/carers with special needs.
* To challenge racist and sexist attitudes and all stereotypes.
* To implement Equality and Diversity policies in the provision of play materials and play situations available to the children.
* To follow policy on discipline which enables staff to be consistent in their handling of children, promoting ‘good’ behaviour rather than punishing ‘bad’. To be aware there is a named person who has the responsibility for issues concerning behaviour.
* To attend weekly meetings to plan the curriculum and individual learning plans for children.
* To attend weekly staff meetings.
* To work in partnership with parents/carers, prepare for and attend review meetings.
* To participate in and encourage child-centred activities allowing for children’s choice and development.
* To be aware of the role and responsibilities of the named SENCO.
* To be aware of fire procedures and fire extinguishers.
* To be aware of, attend training on and implement Oxfordshire Safeguarding procedures. To keep such records confidential and separate. To be aware of the named person who has responsibility for issues concerning Safeguarding Children.
