This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly and motivated multidisciplinary team at Cheshire and Stockport Breast Screening Programme for an Advanced Practitioner Mammographer.
This post is also offered as a trainee post for the ideal candidate. This will be supported by a robust plan which you will be expected to commit to.
You will train towards an area of Advance Practice in Mammography, Interventional procedures and/or Film reading and/or Ultrasound (further discussed at the interview).
The service includes the Screening & Symptomatic Service based at East Cheshire NHS Trust, one mobile van covering the Stockport area and when needed, screening cover is also provided for Mid Cheshire NHS Foundation Trust site.
We run Screening and symptomatic services at East Cheshire/Macclesfield with three Siemens Mammography rooms with tomosynthesis capacity and 3 Ultrasound rooms. The Stockport mobile screening unit serves across the Stockport area with remote digital transfer systems from our vans to the base site.
This is an exciting time to join the team, as we introduce Contrast Enhanced Spectral Mammography.
Main duties of the job
To work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team providing an efficient and effective service to our patients/clients within the screening and symptomatic breast unit.
Support and deputize for the Clinical lead in the provision of an efficient, cost effective, diagnostic Breast imaging service, through effective management of staff, facilities, and innovative use of available resources.
Assist the Manager and fellow Mammographers to ensure optimization of staffing and service provision.
Demonstrate excellent clinical competence with in-depth knowledge and experience of a wide range of mammography examinations.
Provide training and supervision of junior colleagues and provide advice and guidance utilizing advanced knowledge and skills in this specialist area.
Undertake administrative duties as required.
Perform mammography, assessment and interventional mammography. Undertake film reading and/or ultrasound, and/or interventional procedures. Assist where necessary with all interventional procedures both in mammography and ultrasound imaging, handling specimens when necessary.

Qualifications
* BSc (Bachelor of Sciences) (Hons) Radiography degree/Diploma of the College of Radiographers equivalent
* Postgraduate Certificate of Competence in Mammography
* Post Graduate qualification at Masters Level in Advanced Practice (Breast reporting, Breast Ultrasound, Breast Intervention)
* HCPC (Health and Care Professional Council) registered
* Experience of clinical audit
* Member of College/Society of Radiographers
* Postgraduate qualification in Advanced Practice
* Working toward a Masters degree
* Working towards a management qualification
* Working towards a teaching qualification
Experience
* Thorough knowledge of IR(ME)R (Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations)
* Understanding of evidence based practice
* Ability to communicate well at all levels both written and verbal
* Ability to work independently and use initiative
* Previous experience working in a team
* Experience of studying at higher education institution
* Senior clinical mammography experience
