Marshall Fleet Solutions (MFS) is currently recruiting an experienced HGV Workshop Engineer for their Tamworth depot.
Purpose of the Position
The Marshall Fleet Solutions offering is a comprehensive service to manage all fleet-related items. We collaborate with our customers to ensure they operate a fully managed and legally compliant fleet of commercial vehicles and trailers. This opportunity is based at our flagship depot in Tamworth, maintaining a large customer fleet of trailers.
The role involves servicing, maintaining, MOT preparation, and presentation to authorized testing facilities (ATF) in the local area, along with fault diagnosis and repairs to a fleet of approximately 100+ trailers.
Reporting directly to the on-site operational controllers, training will be provided to ensure safety, compliance, business operations, and equipment maintenance, including BPW systems.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities
* Comply with all health & safety regulations, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
* Be fully conversant with government documents such as the Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Inspection Manual and the Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness.
* Communicate effectively with customers and meet their requests.
* Advise customers on fleet issues, providing problem-solving support.
* Prioritize customer satisfaction.
* Process customer transactions and maintain activity records.
* Handle maintenance issues within the pre-agreed service plan.
* Meet operational expectations for communication via telephone and email.
* Build trusted relationships with all customers.
* Manage documentation flow of customer interactions.
* Contribute to improving departmental guidelines and processes.
* Ensure parts are available and replenished as needed.
* Collaborate with immediate and wider teams within the business.
Tasks
* Diagnose and rectify all trailer faults.
* Liaise with the parts department and suppliers to obtain correct parts.
* Adhere to health & safety regulations and safe working practices.
* Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the workshop.
* Complete all job cards and service sheets promptly, both paper and electronic.
* Maintain current product knowledge; training will be provided.
* Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues, both verbally and in writing.

* C+E license required for attending MOT tests at off-site ATFs.
* Proficiency with computers is essential.
