Job Purpose: To be responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of Health, Safety, and Environmental management in line with relevant legislation and Company requirements. To have responsibility for reviewing the effectiveness and efficiency of health, safety, and environmental management systems in place, conducting assessments of current measures, and reporting shortfalls and practical solutions. To be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring SHEQ policies and activities on our sites, supervising and coordinating work systems to ensure that the products of the company meet the highest standards and that working conditions are compliant and safe. The HSEQ Advisor will be responsible for promoting a culture of HSEQ throughout the business. Key Responsibilities: Health & Safety Advise management on all SHEQ matters Ensure all new employees are provided with full SHEQ induction training, driving a culture of Health and Safety awareness and compliance. Provide training and support to employees, fostering a proactive safety-first culture Ensure all staff are trained in compliance with all mandatory and company-led training initiatives, manage training matrix, and ensure all employee's training and certification is up to date and compliant, promoting compliance at all times. Maintain all essential records, including accidents, incidents, near misses Manage and Implement Health and Safety Policies to meet ISO45001 standards Develop, implement, and maintain robust health and safety policies and procedures aligned with statutory requirements and industry best practices. Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance with H&S legislation (e.g., Health and Safety at Work (NI) Order 1978), and compliance with industry standards or codes of practice including any amendments or updates. Implement or enforce preventative measures Lead incident investigations and ensure root causes are identified, corrective actions implemented, and lessons learned and shared. Maintain appropriate records of key activities including but not limited to risk assessments, accidents/incidents, competency and authorisations, waste records, work equipment (certificates) Pre- Site preparation for all 3rd parties to include: site induction, provide thorough briefings to all 3rd parties on site rules, emergency procedures and potential hazards. Conduct and share risk assessments specific to the activities 3rd parties will perform Permit to work systems: require permits for high-risk activities such as confined space entry or hot works Ensure PPE compliance for all staff, visitors, and 3rd parties Environmental Compliance Manage and implement environmental policies to meet ISO 14001 standards and local environmental regulations. Monitor environmental performance, including waste management, emissions, and energy efficiency initiatives. Lead the organisation in achieving sustainability goals, including reducing the companys environmental impact. Lead the Net Zero project for the Group in 2025 and beyond. Quality Management Ensure the Quality Management System (QMS) is adhered to, and support the identification and progression of improvement actions, to meet ISO 9001 or equivalent standards. Support quality assurance and control initiatives to ensure products meet customer and regulatory specifications. Work with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve quality issues, driving continuous improvement. Conduct internal audits and coordinate external audits to maintain certifications and compliance. Investigate customer complaints regarding quality, make recommendations for continuous improvement, or identify training needs; ensure finished products meet quality standards Leadership and Communication Act as a key point of contact for regulatory bodies, certification auditors, and other external stakeholders. Provide HSEQ performance updates and reports to senior management, offering strategic insights and recommendations. Build strong relationships across all levels of the organisation to promote HSEQ ownership and engagement. Develop and deliver HSEQ training programs tailored to various levels of the workforce. Work alongside the Senior Management team looking into continuous improvement projects Any other duties as required by the Managing Director or a member of the Senior Management Team. Person Specification Essential Qualifications and Experience Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, for example, Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. 1 year experience in Health & Safety NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent). Strong knowledge of relevant local/national/EU HSEQ legislation and standards. Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems. Desirable Criteria Experience in Environmental and Quality Experience in a manufacturing or construction environment Membership in IOSH or similar professional bodies Full Driving Licence Certification in Environmental management (e.g. IEMA) Experience in lean manufacturing Key Skills Leadership and people management, with the ability to influence and drive cultural change. Analytical skills and a solutions-focused mindset. Strong organisational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse teams. Proficiency in data analysis and report writing, using tools like MS Office or specialised HSEQ software.
